PhD Work

The working title for my PhD is Evolution of Cell Function over all described Genomes.

Calcium Signaling Toolkit

I have completed my masters dissertation that begins to describe the evolution or distribution of Calcium Signaling pathways across all sequenced genomes. The project aimed to specify a complete bioinformatics toolkit of the domains, genes, proteins, and families of proteins involved in calcium based signaling taken from an anatomical description in humans from the Biology literature. This was then to be mapped onto phylogenetic trees based on all sequence data that is freely available.
